Can you re-lay my old slate roof rather than replace it?

Often, yes. Where the slates are sound we can strip, renew the battens and membrane and re-lay them, salvaging what we can and matching in any replacements.

Do you fit a breathable membrane under the slate?

Yes. We lay new slate over a breathable underlay with treated battens so the roof stays ventilated and dry underneath.

Can you replace just a few broken slates?

Yes. If the roof is otherwise sound we can replace slipped and broken slates rather than re-lay the whole roof.
